Meeting new earthlings is truly a gift of life that we should cherish. People come into our lives, leave their footprints and inspire us through the people they are and the things we learn from them. When I first met Dehlia I got to know her as a fun young lady with a bright smile (and some serious dancing skills!). Throughout the years I’ve seen her grow into an ambitious young woman, working hard to make a career in a tough business: television. As she climbs the ladder at global production company Endemol, her turbulent existence leaves her with little spare time. Imagine the surprise when I asked to feature her and we literally planned to do the shoot within 48 hours! On a sunny saturday I travelled to the suburbs of The Hague, to meet Dehlia and her lovely family!
As I stepped into a beautiful, country style designed kitchen, my eyes caught a glimpse of a table filled with fresh produce, straight from local farming vendors. Dehlia loves spending time with her family and so it fit the occasion to do the Dishtales shoot in her mom’s kitchen. I have to say that I had the best time getting to know them and spending the day there. Both her parents and little brother were very welcoming and (naturally) quite interested in the whole food-blogger-does-a-photoshoot-with-our-daughter/sister thing. Oh and I love that after we finished shooting her mom hopped into the kitchen and came out 30 minutes later with one of the tastiest soups I ever had. They sure knew how to make a foodie happy! 🙂
Anyway, what’s on the menu? Dehlia’s signature summer salad. After a trip to Thailand she was inspired to toss some of her favorite products together for an easy, healthy meal with tons of flavor. This salad was the result and with a big smile on her face this gorgeous creature made her very tasty, colorful summer dish. Temperatures are rising and so I suggest you all to scroll down, print the ingredient list/recipe and celebrate summer with your families. I will definitely soon invite myself again to foodie paradise…I mean Dehlia’s family home. Thanks for leaving your footprints! 🙂
