Meet Anita & Julie

Hans Christian Anderson famously quoted: To Travel is to Live. If you’re fortunate enough to travel often you most definitely will embrace these words. Through travelling we discover the majestic landscapes of our planet, dive into extraordinary cultures and meet so many people, who come into our lives and change us forever. A few years ago friends of friends invited two earthlings into our lives named Anita and Julie. It was Kingsday in Amsterdam and millions of people would hit the streets to celebrate. The fun began with a memorable boat-ride through the canals of our capital city and we were quickly falling in love with this witty duo. Little did we know that a beautiful friendship would arise from that encounter, bringing us together in different travel destinations and finally reunite us in their hometown: Copenhagen.Meet Julie & Anita
When you spend time with these girls you get the feeling that they’ve known each other all their lives. These inseparable best friends, however, only met through work a few years ago! An instant click led to a great friendship that became increasingly stronger through both their life-loving characters as well as their (very determined) passion for travelling. Seriously though, I’ve met my fair share of travelers, but these girls really outdo anyone. As I’m writing this article one of them is hiking the hills of Mallorca and the other is chasing wild animals in Kenia! 🙂Meet Julie & Anita-8
When I heard that they were in town when I visited Copenhagen I was naturally super excited. What recipe can we expect from Anita and Julie? A cocktail of course! I waited on purpose with sharing their dishtale, as I wanted to feature the best Bloody Mary Cocktail Recipe in the world with you today. So without further a do: stir up those glasses, cheers to these lovely ladies and HAPPY HALLOWEEN!Meet Julie & Anita-2Meet Julie & Anita-5

Meet Anita & Julie's Bloody Mary Cocktail

BUY:

  • vodka
  • squeezed juice from 1/2 lemon
  • a bit of freshly ground horseradish
  • a splash of Worcestershire sauce
  • salt & pepper (to taste)
  • Tabasco (to taste)
  • tomato juice

DO:

  1. Depending on the size of your cocktail glasses, fill them up 2/3 with tomato juice and 1/3 vodka. Don't go all the way to the top as you'll need some room for the other goodies!
  2. Stir in all ingredients (the magic of Worcestershire!) and add Tabasco with drops. Keep stirring and taste for spiciness, as preferred
  3. Now it's time to accessorize your fabulous cocktail with cocktail skewers pinched with (shortly grilled!) Serrano ham, cherry tomatoes, pickles and celery sticks.
  4. Happy -Bloody- Halloween!
