The Marie Heinekenplein, also widely known as the Heinekenplein, has been a go-to place in De Pijp for a long time now. When my fabulous colleague blogger Culi Amsterdam told me about this tapas place calle Barca, I was a bit surprised that I didn’t know it yet. Considering that I pretty much eat and photograph at restaurants everyday you’d think that I know most joints in my own hood. Nevertheless, I was intrigued and so on a rainy Friday night I took my fabulous friend Sander to sunny Spain (on the Heinekenplein) to binge on some tapas! 🙂
And when it comes to tapas, Barca serves up quite a lot of it! You can of course order paella or other a-la-carte menu items as well, but the main focus here is definitely tapas. My personal favorite in any Spanish restaurant is a good plate of delicious Pata Negra Ibérico. Combine this with some tapas and a pitcher of sangria (they sell pitchers of sangria..yes!) and you’ll have the sunniest fall night you could imagine in Amsterdam! 🙂
